A Coolcation, In The Desert At DXB

Temperatures may be sitting up in the 40s in Dubai, but it’s still worth urging clients to pack a sweater, as Emirates points out the city hosts many cooler spots for those seeking to beat the heat.

Dubai is one of the few global cities engineered for year-round travel, says EK, with wide-scale air-conditioning and plenty of indoor entertainment. This includes indoor theme parks such as MOTIONGATE Dubai which features rides from Dreamworks films such as The Hunger Games, Kung Fu Panda and How To Train Your Dragon. Even larger is IMG Worlds of Adventure, a mega-themed indoor entertainment destination with themed roller coasters, thrill rides, and more. The city also hosts ‘cool’ museums, including the Dubai Museum in the Al Fahidi Fort and the Louvre Abu Dhabi, and attractions such as The Top Burj Khalifa, an outdoor observatory and lounge. Then there’s shopping, with EK’s recommendations including the world’s largest themed shopping mall, Ibn Battuta Mall, which is designed around the travel experiences of the renowned Arabian explorer, Ibn Battuta. There’s also the Tuscan-inspired The Outlet Village, the UAE’s only premium brand-outlet mall, as well as The Dubai Mall and its more than 1300 retail outlets. The climate-controlled experience starts at touch down at Dubai International Airport, with fast-track connections and direct access to the city’s climate-controlled transport network, adds EK.
