The Walshe Group is one of Australia and New Zealand’s largest independent travel representation companies. The Walshe Group is General Sales Agent (GSA) in New Zealand for China Airlines, Taiwan’s flagship carrier.
We are looking to appoint a dynamic Sales & Marketing Manager with previous airline or travel industry sales experience to be dedicated to the China Airlines account.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Develop a sales & marketing plan to best maximise revenue opportunities for China Airlines, including developing Preferred Agency agreements and other strategic actions
- Prepare and analyse monthly marketing reports and maintain good relationship with China Airlines Management contacts.
- Manage relationships with Agency Head offices, key travel agencies and Interline Partners
- Deliver relevant and informative sales messages that inform and position CI for growth in terms of revenue and market share.
- Data and revenue analysis through the use of various reporting tools
- Deliver a professional and informative sales message
- Coordinate and participate in industry events, expos and activities
- Manage a small Sales and Sales Support team
Skills and experience
- Minimum 2 years in sales management, in the airline industry ideally
- First-hand knowledge of the travel trade sector and distribution in NZ
- First rate communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical, time management and organisational skills.
- To have a genuine passion for sales and business development.
- Demonstrate flexibility to meet the varying demands of the role.
- A high level of energy and drive.
- Domestic and international travel will be required.
- Applicants must have a current driver’s license and own car
- Chinese (mandarin) speaker an advantage
