
Christchurch Airport has reported a 22% surge in international visitors. Between Nov 2025 and Mar this year, 3.1 million passengers travelled through the airport, including a total of 287,000 international visitors.
CHC says the growth reflects strong demand for Christchurch and the South Island, combined with an increased air capacity.
Singapore Airlines ramped up to 11 weekly flights at peak, Cathay Pacific capacity was up 24% and China Southern Airlines climbed 37% last season.
Flights to Australia were led by Jetstar with a 49% capacity increase Qantas was up 18% and Air New Zealand increased 7%.
