Qantas has announced plans to go daily on its Auckland-New York City route, on a seasonal basis, in response to strong demand.
“We’re exceptionally happy with AKL-NYC, which is being strongly supported by Kiwi travellers,” says QF’s senior sales manager Rebecca Slee. “We are seeing more Kiwis f lying both to NYC, and beyond to UK Europe, using NYC as a fabulous stopover option—and we’re excited to announce that we’ll move to a seasonal daily service from late Jun.”
The carrier reminds agents that its 787-9 aircraft operating on the NYC route is specifically designed for ultra long-haul flying with a ‘pre mium heavy’ cabin configuration. “Plus we have an all-Kiwi crew, and our pyjamas for business and first-class passengers and our limited-edition RM Williams amenity kits.”
. . . Lounge Hype
Slee says QF has received ‘phenomenal’ feedback on its new Auckland Airport lounge. “People are loving it, which is showing up in our Net Promoter Scores, and we’re also getting anecdotal feedback that the lounge is changing the brand’s perception in New Zealand which is, of course, great news.”
