Virgin Australia has named Andrew Cleary as its new chief customer officer and ceo Velocity, stepping into the Sydney-based role on 23 Mar.
Cleary, who was most recently at Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong, takes the role from Nick Rohrlach, who is stepping down. Chief strategy and transformation officer Alistair Hartley will also step down from his role on 30 Apr.
Speaking on the re-jig, the carrier’s ceo Dave Emerson says combining customer experience, marketing, and Velocity loyalty capabilities under unified leadership will enable faster decision-making, better integration of customer data and insights, and enhanced value creation from the loyalty ecosystem. VA’s strategy and transformation team will also transition to report directly to Emerson from 30 Apr, a move he says ensures efforts remain strategically focused and fully integrated with the carrier’s commercial and operational plans.
