Three airlines serving Auckland top the latest OAG punctuality rankings.
Of ‘major’ airlines with more than 20,000 flights, China Southern Airlines tops the OAG list with 89.4% of flights arriving within 15mins of schedule, followed by Hainan Airlines and Qantas. Another AKL operator, China Eastern Airlines, was fifth.
Worldwide, punctuality was hit hard by severe weather in the Northern Hemisphere. Of ‘large’ carriers (with 10,000-20,000 flights), Panama’s Copa Airlines topped the list with 91% of flights arriving on time. Air New Zealand, which says new operational procedures had improved punctuality late last year, was 12th with 81% of flights on time.
