Qantas has appointed Michael Gulliver to the Auckland-based role of regional gm New Zealand & Pacific Islands, commercial & operations.
He is charged with overseeing the integration of Jetconnect and New Zealand sales and marketing teams under unified leadership for the first time. Gulliver, a Kiwi, brings more than 20 years of experience in the New Zealand aviation market to the role, most recently as gm Jetconnect Qantas Announces New Appointment and succeeds Alex O’Connor who has relocated to Sydney, to be QF’s head of sales channels. Speaking on his new role, Gulliver says he’s excited about the opportunities ahead . “Having spent the majority of my career in New Zealand aviation, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible growth of the region and am excited for its tremendous potential.” QF executive manager global sales & distribution Kathryn Robertson adds that Gulliver has a ‘proven track record of leading strategy and operations, which makes him ideally positioned to lead this next phase of our expansion in the New Zealand and Pacific Islands market’. In his new role Gulliver says his immediate focus will be on integrating the teams ‘and leveraging their collective knowledge of operations, sales and marketing to drive new efficiencies and better serve our customers as we continue to grow.’
