American Airlines has launched One Stop Security , allowing its passengers flying from London Heathrow Airport to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport to clear US Customs at the arrival gate and head straight to their connecting flight.
Said to be an industry first, it eliminates the need for passengers to recheck their bags, or pass through TSA Security, adds the carrier. The initiative, created in partnership with the US Transportation Security Administration, US Customs and Border Protection and the UK Department for Transport, is anticipated to cut connection times by more than half. AA’s coo David Seymour says that OSS is one of the most forward-thinking enhancements it can bring to international travel, as AA offers convenience and time-savings that have never been available to customers connecting from international flights. AA is the first airline to implement OSS at a US airport, and the carrier says it plans to explore opportunities to expand it to additional flights and US airports in the future.
