The countdown is now on until the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia’s annual Cruise Month promotion in Oct— and agents are being urged to start preparing their own campaigns now.
The initiative coincides with the start of the southern summer cruise season and will feature the theme #LoveCruise this year. Once again Cruise Month will follow four weekly themes, beginning with ocean cruising 05-11 Oct; river cruising 12-18 Oct; expedition cruising 19-25 Oct; and luxury cruising 26 Oct–01 Nov.

Joel Katz, CLIA md Australasia, is encouraging all its members to get involved, and begin planning their own Cruise Month promotions, events and social media campaigns. “Cruise Month is about creating excitement around cruising and celebrating the upcoming cruise season, so we’ll be rolling out a succession of initiatives designed to inspire travellers and direct them towards CLIA travel agents,” he adds.
. . . New Tool Kit
Highlights for this year include new advertising and education opportunities. The first stage of the Cruise Month Toolkit launched this week, which offers consultants digital assets such as logos, videos, digital banners, posters, customisable flyers and other marketing resources. Further trade resources will be added soon, says CLIA, including a new series of social media tiles for agents.

There’s also a new webinar series presented by CLIA cruise lines planned with each providing product updates, sales and details of Cruise Month promotions.
