As the TAANZ team works behind the scenes across a number of initiatives, this week the agent body is focused on delivering a ‘show stopping night’ celebrating the nation’s best agents and suppliers at the TAANZ NTIA25.
Industry support for the awards sold-out event has exceeded demand, and this year TAANZ ceo Julie White says it is introducing new experiences to make NTIA25 even more memorable. “A special highlight is our new VIP Finalist event, taking time to recognise the stars of our industry who work tirelessly to create unforgettable experiences for others. NTIA25 is our moment to celebrate us.” White stresses that the awards are designed to celebrate the entire travel ecosystem ‘from seasoned professionals to new talent, and our critical supplier partners’. While she’s not giving away all of Sat night’s surprises, White says those attending NTIA25 can expect some exciting activations. “There will be plenty of ‘OMG’ moments, and the opportunity to reconnect with industry friends and colleagues—for many, an annual tradition,” she says. The TAANZ boss has also acknowledged and thanked the event sponsors. “Our suppliers are part of our celebration and they have certainly pulled out all the stops to ensure this year’s NTIA is one for the ages.”

TAANZ’s momentum is building says White, who adds that there’s more news around government engagement on the way. The TAANZ boss, last week attended the New Zealand cruise industry update onboard the Celebrity Edge, where Upston presented. In addition, TAANZ’s new website is set to go live in May. The revamped site will feature self-serve profiles for accredited travel agents and advisors to help connect with more consumers. Plus, White says there’s more on the horizon with the agent body’s new initiative TAANZ Business Connect, which launches 22 May in Christchurch, designed to help members’ travel businesses operations.
