House of Travel Christchurch City’s Belinda Fifield took out Retail Consultant of the Year, sponsored by Singapore Airlines, for the second time at the weekend’s TAANZ NTIA25s, leaving her both surprised and humbled.
Fifield (pictured), who first took out the award in 2019, says she was really thrilled just to be one of the five finalists–believing that because she had won prior there was a good chance she wouldn’t get it again. “I’m really thrilled, very honored and very humbled,” she told Travel Today this morning. “I wasn’t expecting it.”

Fifeild attributes her win to the amazing team of people she works with, including her bosses, who gives her the freedom to do what she does. “I’ve also got an amazing PA she just does an incredible job supporting everything I do as well, I’ve got a husband who keeps the fires burning at home and the rest of our office they go above and beyond in terms of covering all the over flow work that comes in… it’s definitely a team effort.”

As to her advice for other agents who dream of being among the top in New Zealand, Fifield’s advice is to be customer centric, empathetic, pay attention to detail and always go the extra mile. “By doing those things well, it has allowed me to build a really great client base of repeat and referral clients,” she adds. In fact, Fifield says she doesn’t often see walk ins off the street, it’s all repeat and referrals. “I’ve worked really hard over the years to build that client base of trusted clients, who trust me and allow me to do what I do, so that’s the secrets for my success.”
