Emirates’ lounge at Auckland International Airport re-opened yesterday and now sports a lighter and airier feel—along with a new-look dining room.
Highlights of the refreshed 1219m2 square AKL lounge, which can accommodate up to 220 guests, include upscale furnishings in the signature Emirates-style and elegant dining options. There’s more tables for dining, and there continues to be an extensive range of cuisine on offer, buffer-style, using local meat and produce and a wide selection of beverages.
Amenity-wise there’s still the showers and complimentary Wi-Fi. The lounge is open to the airline’s first class and business class customers as well as Skywards Platinum and Gold members part of Emirates’ frequent flyer loyalty program. EK says the AKL renovation is part of the carrier’s ongoing investment to improve its worldwide lounges, which it is doing in an effort to ensure a consistent offering in the air and on the ground.
