Qatar Airways has been named the World’s Best Airline in the annual Skytrax awards, the ninth time the Doha-based carrier has taken top honours since the awards started in 1999.
Singapore Airlines is second, with Cathay Pacific third, Emirates fourth and ANA was in fifth.

Other top 10 airlines in the passenger-voted awards are Turkish Airlines, Korean Air, Air France, Japan Airlines and Hainan Airlines.
QR’s group ceo Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, said the record-breaking win was a celebration of the passion, precision and purpose of the airline. “To retain this title in a highly competitive and ever-evolving global industry reflects the relentless efforts across every part of the business position.’’
QR also picked up best business class, best Middle East airline, best business class lounge (for the Al Mourjan Lounge—The Garden at Hamad International) and Skytrax five-star airline recognition.

SQ won best cabin crew and its first-class suites continue to dominate by winning the award as the best first class. SQ was also named best airline in Asia.

Qantas was named the best airline in Australia/Pacific for the second time, with Virgin Australia awarded best airline staff service in Australia /Pacific, and best regional airline. Air Canada was named best airline in North America. The world’s best premium economy was won by Virgin Atlantic and CX won top economy class and best in-flight entertainment. Among other categories EVA Air was voted the cleanest airline and Lufthansa the most family-friendly. The on-line survey operated Sep 2024-May, and more than 100 customer nationalities participated.
